HistoHipp is a free educational application about the history of medicine. It lets you explore historical medical figures, diseases and epidemics, stories, animated biographies, a timeline of medicine, and interactive quizzes.
HistoHipp does not require an account. You can use the app and take quizzes without signing in. Standard quiz history is stored on your device under a dedicated app key; scenario and figures results are session-only. None of these results are sent to our servers, and points shown in the app are local to your device or session only — they are not synced to a leaderboard. HistoHipp is free and does not offer any purchases, subscriptions, trials, or payment transactions.
No account required
HistoHipp does not require you to create an account or sign in. We do not ask for your email address, name, or any registration information to use the app or take quizzes.
Quiz results
Completed standard quiz scores are stored using your browser's local storage under a dedicated app key. Scenario and figures quiz results remain in memory for the current session. If local storage is unavailable or full, the result is kept in memory for the session instead. This release does not send these results to our servers.
Legacy account data
Earlier versions supported accounts. Existing server records may contain names, email addresses, quiz attempts, points, streaks, achievements, preferences, and entitlements. Disabling accounts does not delete these records. This release does not read or update them, and ignores previously saved account credentials.
What this release does NOT collect
The medical and historical information shown inside HistoHipp is educational content about the history of medicine — biographies of historical figures, descriptions of historical diseases, and stories about past medical practices. This content is not personal health data about you. HistoHipp does not provide medical diagnosis, treatment advice, or health recommendations. Always consult a qualified healthcare professional for medical concerns. HistoHipp is a free app and does not offer any purchases, subscriptions, trials, or payment transactions.
HistoHipp is built and hosted on the Base44 platform, which provides hosting, authentication, database storage, and related infrastructure. As part of operating and securing the service, Base44 may process limited technical information such as IP addresses, device or browser type, and server log data for hosting, security, and diagnostic purposes.
Figures quiz questions are prepared locally from stored historical facts, without a runtime AI generation request. Runtime AI speech (narration) generation is disabled in this release; no speech or AI generation request is sent. Hosting and media providers may still process request metadata including IP addresses, device/browser details, timestamps, and diagnostic logs for the educational content that does load. Not sending quiz scores or account credentials does not mean there is no provider-side technical processing. This release does not submit legacy account profiles to those services.
The iOS edition uses a Base44-generated native wrapper to display the published app. Sentry is configured for crash and error reporting, performance monitoring and session diagnostics. Diagnostic records can include device and app details, installation or device identifiers, and a user identifier when available. Firebase / Google Analytics is initialized by the wrapper; its standard analytics processing can include app-instance identifiers, app launches, screen views and sessions, and approximate location derived from network addresses. These providers process technical and usage information for diagnostics, reliability and analytics, separately from the quiz results stored locally on your device. The wrapper also configures the Google Maps SDK, although this release has no consumer map feature; SDK technical request metadata may be processed by that provider. Using the app without an account and disabling purchases does not disable the native SDKs. Contact us using the details below with questions about this processing.

Previously stored account credentials may remain on your device for restoration, but this consumer release ignores them. Technical cookies or identifiers may be used by hosting providers outside the app's local storage. We do not use cookies for targeted advertising.
HistoHipp is an educational app about medical history and is suitable for a general audience. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.
We take reasonable measures to help protect the service. However, no method of transmission or electronic storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security. Legacy server account records remain subject to existing backend access controls. Clearing device or browser data removes local quiz history but does not delete server records. To request deletion of a legacy account and associated data, use the contact link below or the Support page, identify your former account, and state your deletion request. Ownership verification may be required. Do not send passwords or tokens. Any applicable legal or security retention requirements will be explained during the process.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
